    Xerox DC2060 error 009-343

After start up there is the regular noise from within the machine, and then it stops. The same thing when I try to print something. Found after net search '009-343 Belt Home Fail Too Long' - anybody knows what this is.

The reflective patch on the ibt has not been detected. Clean the reflective patch on the IBTand clean the sensor. If the error has occured 3 times you will have to reset nvm 741-027 to 0

Hi davidj7, thank you for the response. I cleaned the reflective patch and the sensors but what I can see now is that the IBT belt gets displaced a little in direction towards the interior so the patch gets off position. If I adjust the belt it gets back displaced almost immediately and the error is generated again. Is that normal?.

Hi davidj7, it is quite possible that the belt has reached its end, but what I noticed is that there is a small lever with some sensor at the back end of the IBT and that lever stayed always in far back position, and the belt actually pushes itself into it so that its surface gets curved. Is it possible that that lever has some spring broken or something that makes it stay in position so that when the belt reaches it it stops adjusting its position? I put a peace of paper behind it to act as a spring and the belt actually stays in position and everything is fine but I don't know if this is right.

You need a PWS to do the Belt edge learn to keep the belt in position.

How do I do that with the PWS (or preferably through the machine menu)? And what is more important how can I tell whether the belt edge sensor is defective?

first put a new belt and check if the issues goes away. if it goes then you can be sure its your belt in need of replacement . if the issue still persists we can look into other options.

Finally found a decent picture that shows the belt edge actuator with a spring attached to it which had obviously sprung out and that was the cause of the problem.

                      Re: Xerox DC2060 error 009-343

So im getting this same error 009-343, after replacing all the drums and the belt, started it up and 009-343 error code came up. In reading this forum 009-343 is "Belt Home Fail Too Long", So I checked my placement of the belt, I may have placed the belt to far down so I moved it up away from the side spring sensor. I also checked the spring on sensor on the side of the belt which seems fine. I cleaned a sensor on the bottom side of the belt after lifting everything up, its on the piece you remove, to replace the belt. Still the same code comes up. Any ideas?
