    Replacing/Servicing Phaser 4510 Control panel

While I'm not a xerox service tech I am pretty savvy in replacing/servicing printers and at work we have a Xerox 4510 that it's LCD panel has stop working so everytime it needs paper or toner everyone runs to my desk for support and its getting old. I see the part is XEROX 4510 CONTROL PANEL -# 848E17860 is around $250 online refurbished. The unit itself is well out of warranty. i have replaced a 8500 series LCD screen before and it went really well.

How much trouble will I have or will it be impossible to replace by me? Could something else besides the control panel need replacing and the blanked LCD is just a symptom of the issue? I do have working web gui access to the unit in case I need to pull codes (I think there is a spot for pulling codes on the web gui).

    Replacing/Servicing Phaser 4510 Control panel

    Nathaniel,

The front user panel on this model pops up from the front plastics and is connected with a small pin connector underneath. Use a small flat head screwdriver to pry it up. One thing you can try is reset the machine's NVRAM back to factory and see if that brings your screen back. If it does not, blank panel is usually the panel itself or the IP controller board. Sorry your device is OOW, those parts get really expensive. Email me if you need anything, I have the manual for this model and am certified on it as well.

    Cheers,

    Chas
