So this is an intermittent problem. Machine works fine the two "snap" sounds like a rubber band occur in the finisher area. Machine then throws code 012-284. If rebooted machine works fine again until problem reoccurs.
On a side note, when the finisher door is opened the cartridge does not return to the home position. Never seen a xerox finisher that doesn't.
Any ideas?
