xerox 5328 error U7

I am new and I would like to ask how to get rid of U7. After warm up, my copier is saying to clear a jam that does not exist, then gives E2 error, and then U7.

Any idea how to clear it? Thanks,

First thought is to upgrade the customer. Otherwise check the copy cartridge for an open seam. On this model if the belt seem allows light to pass it causes this error. If the machine was set for run to failure on the cartridge then this error occurs when the cartirdge is past its usefull life. As to the E2 codes that is a "watchdog" timer error and can mean anything but I would be willing to bet the cartridge caused it.

When tha console displays the U7 code, press the "zero" (0). If "one" (1) appears then 100% you will have to change the copy cartridge.

That' s right! I forgot that!

U7-1 is problems seeing belt hole in photo-receptor belt(drum). Seam can wear(false holes) also if pre-charge erase lamp is soiled you can get this code. Probably needs a cartridge though
