We have a xerox m15I that can receive faxes with no problem, but when we try to send a fax out the display stays on "dialing" and the faxes never get sent out, it later on attempts a redial but never goes out. The machine later prints out a message confermation and says that there was no answer/busy even though the receiving end is not busy. I faxed to my cell phone to test the line and it does sound like its faxing out, any ideas or help?? P.s. this is a large company and we need to dial 9 then 1 then number with area code, also we tried nother brother machine and it does the same thing with the brother machine.
xerox m15i fax issue.

It can be any of a hundred issues. I would start and make sure that the machines are set for USA dialing. Then check the polarity of the phone line and make sure that is correct. And use the hook function and make sure the numbers that they are dialing are live. Then have the phone company check the line. These are the most common problems on fax machines that I have found. And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!Comment

Yeah I will have to go back and check out the copier settings, the weird thing is that the sending out faxes problem is on two seperate machines.Comment

That is why I suggested the on hook method to see if you hear any error messages. Also check the polarity as stated/ If these are reversed (tooooo common) then it may receive but not send. And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!Comment
