    Best b/w workhorse machine?

I currently service a few DC470/480 series machines. They very good reliable machines, but begin to age and perhaps it's a good time to replace them (close to 7mln copies).
What are the current best alternatives? - doesn't have to be Xerox.

I love the WCP 55. Easy to maintain and they keep going and going. Are you looking for higher speed or in the same range? The docutech line is hands down the best in the business if you were going that route.

Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

after many frustrating results I was more curious than practical about getting a box. DC470/480 wore me down @ about 5 and 7 mln copies respectively. We buried with with no fanfare a few months ago, just a few bottoms up at the local bar
I tend to side myself with WC55, heard a lot of good about those machines.

              medium volum - 4110 family (4595, etc)
              low volum - 123 (52xx, 53xx)
This are the mule from Xerox (Fuji Xerox have the best eq.)

Xerox 4110 family machines are workhorses. I have a customer who runs a 4112 in a college print shop. He's had it for 3 years and it has nearly 8 million copies on it so far. It runs great with minimal servicing. It'll probably have nearly twice that meter count before they look to replace it.

I can attest to that. I'm familiar with the 4112 (which I think is an updated 4110) and 4595. I like the 4112 with the dual scan feeder better than the 4595 but they're both good. Some would say they're fast plastic, which is sort of true when comparing them to other machines. They are however very user friendly and module based. The machines actually tell you when to order and replace something.

Are they a run 24/7 machine? No. But they have done well on solid 8 hour shifts when the time arose.
