Xerox 242 can't connect to fiery, neither can CWS

Hi all, I've been a ghost reader of this forum for quite a while and finally had a problem I couldn't solve via searching!

We have a Xerox 242 with a bustled (small) fiery and the Fiery is having some issues. I can't connect via CWS5 (Server name or IP Address invalid), can't print directly to the print queue, can't connect via web tools from my PC, and can't connect to web tools via the printer's display. The web tools & scanning options are not greyed out as they are before the fiery is completely initialized, but a click gets error -100 can't connect to server. Scanning works fine, though.

However, I can nmap the fiery and it shows the samba (network) as being up and running (ports 139 and 445) and sure enough I can connect to that via wind0ws, but it doesn't display the print/hold/direct queues - it shows it as being connected to the server, but there are no shares. Port 9100 is not open, neither is 8000/8080/443. However there are 3 more open ports - 8022, 18021, and 22000.

Any help would sure be appreciated!!!!

    Thanks,
    Brian

Usually there is one thing that you can do, reinstall the system software. For some unknown reason it getting corrupted and need to be reinstalled. You should have 3 cds with label on them Fiery systen SW 2.0 ( if your machine is 242). Connect to the fiery via cross cable. Set the small switches that are near the fiery small dislay ( and ports) set them to on. Then insert the 1st CD in you ROM start pressing next. It is really simple. Thats it basicly. Good luck.

      That worked very well. Thanks!
The discs would not work well with my CD drive, though, and kept having "failed installations" around the end of disc 2. To circumvent this, I made ISO's out of all 3 CD's and installed via poweriso. The installer was having issues unmounting (eject failed) the ISO's, but doing it manually worked. Even though it had a perpetual "insert disc x" message.
