[Error Code]
copycentre c35 displaying system unavailable
I am a pc/printer tech who inherited a xerox copycentre c35 displaying system unavailable... and will do nothing. I would like to get this thing working for my personal use. Can someone point me in the right direction please?
Need error code to point you on the right direction...
It actually says 'system unavailable' after the display comes on, gives the xerox emblem and the dots count across the top left as it boots. It will then say 'communication error, wait until the power down message appears before powering off.' It never gives an option to power down and you have to physically unplug it. I never get a numeric error code. Thanks in advance for any ideas!!
Normally fault around SIP tray. Check NVM software dram battery if below 2.8 volts replace. Also i have had fire wire pwbs and cables cause this, Remove fire cable and pwb and try machine without them in. There are a few more areas i.e drop in voltage from LVPS or defective distribution PWB or defective SIP PWB, Defective EPC memory
Check CR7 (for 32-55PPM machines)
If CR7 or CR1 flashes at a cadence of almost twice per second the SIP PWB is running normally.
It could be problem with NWM, which can be solved by reloading software, or some parts must be changed. In both cases the best option for you is to call xerox technician.
Is there any way to 'reload' the nvm without using pws (which i don't have)? I think it has corrupted software and would like to reload it...
Thanks again
1. No, you can't "reload" without pws (you need NVM read/write for writing nvm).
2. try disconect firewire pwb (out of mainboard). Is booting normaly (as copier)?
3. you measured NVM battery? Is lower then 2.8-2.9V?
READ tech9 post!!!

have you verified that the two leds (as you said tech9)?
for NVM Battery just put in parallel with existing battery a Li-Ion battery 3V (CR2032 OR CR2036), just to be sure.
2.9V is good enough
sorry for my english (google!)
