Hi I looked at one 6204 that was making noise and was producing very light print. I noticed that the noise has to do with light print. I eventually got it to go away. All I did, in order for me to take one cover off i had to move printer about 4ft. after putting it back to its place it started to work fine. I noticed that noise was coming from developer area and I also noticed that there was quite a bit of toner rubbing off on the left side of developer. Is it possible that some toner got insode the gears and was causing noise and eventually toner got out of gears and its Ok for now? any insite helpfull.

developer unit is only snap in back side and only 1 spring keep it in place. easy to recognize- you put the toner in. maybe you need just to refit it in and check the spring ( left side from behind i think) before you need to take out it cover -(2 or 4 Ph2 screw). it easy to have it misplaced (white image- usually more 1 side then other). there a cable from same side to be unplugged.. switch off the IOT before exercise.
