Using dc 700 toner in dc 252

As i understand the toner is very much the same, although the fins on the cartridge are different. Not sure about he chip though!

Is it just the case of filling them down to fit?

Also do the drums fit and work?

Anybody out there using the 700 toner / consumables in a 252?

    Thanks

No good. They are very different. The 700 toner is designed to fuse at lower temperatures than the 252 toner. (They are both manufactured the same way, but their properties are very very different.)

Because the 252 is designed for a toner which requires MORE than than the 700, when you use 700 toner in the 252, it will be providing _too much_ heat. The result is that the prints come out ridiculously high gloss. (Over cooked.)

That might not be so bad if you wanted high gloss, except that everything comes out way too dark, too. WAY too dark. More than you can adjust for.

There is a whole lot more to toner than "seeming similar"...
