we have hooked a screen to the color server and it seems its stuck on booting the kernel, anyone can help out with that?

This kernel is the operating sistem of color server. No operating sistem , no IP, no printer, no scanner. Only copier sometime.
Also I said there is the easy way and the hard way to do the right thing.

Update the FIERY to 1.2. you them also have IPV6 support

how wil this work if we dont have a CWS linked to it?

CWS is not needed, al the software to preload the FIERY RIP is on the three disks. You cant use any laptop with a network port and min. windows xp.
After installation you only need to update it using the internet and a laptop on the same network as the FIERY.

yes you can change the ip address of xerox dc242 if you have admins password,open web applications then enter the password, the password is Fiery.1
now login in admins mode, now you can change any thing.
