Phaser 6250 - How to bypass TONER CHIP (or RFID?)?

Hi! I have spent a good deal of time searching for this here and on other forums so I don't think its here already; my apologies if I missed it! (and please point me to it)

The Xerox Phaser 6250 Toners have a chip (or RFID? - don't know what technology is in there...) that the 6200's do not have.

My question -- Part A -- Is there a way to bypass (or RESET) the reading of this info when booting the printer so that I can refill my cartridges or use other almost identical cartridges made for the same engine?

Part B -- The Brother HL-4200cn & QMS Magicolor 3300 toner cartridges are identical except for small external "tab notches" in the toner housing that can easily be modified to fit, but is the toner ID/count device the same? If not, part A above applies to these cartridges as well.

    THANK YOU!!

I am looking to purchase some used Phaser 6250's, they do not have to be in great working condition, or have supplies. They'd be used as backup parts for machines in our office.

      Hi,

I have 3 Phaser 6250's that I received in a lot that was supposed to be all Phaser 6200's. They boot fine until the "replace toner" messages, and I do not have toner cartridges for the 6250's so I have not print-tested them. They have all consumables except for toner, and it may be possible to read the percentage life remaining through the diagnostics menu. If you want to contact me privately I can send you pictures or provide other info. The one concern I have is shipping, as they are heavy and I have had some color laser printers shipped to me in the past that suffered significant damage in the shipping process, so we would have to discuss. You can email me through [ RFaxMan at yahoo dot com], or use the contact member through email feature of this forum (you have that feature blocked out so I could not email you)

      Regards -- RFaxMan

replace toner RFID to refill your own toners

I found one of the toner refill vendors in the UK selling new RFID chips to replace the ones on the toner cartridge to allow ou to refill the cartridge.
The replacement chip is $8/UK, and the bottle of toner is $22
TonerTopUp toner refills simply refill your Xerox PHASER 6250 26PPM COLOR PTR laser cartridge.
