    DC5000 Black drum issue

    Hi,
In my DC5000 there appears a roughed up area approx 1 inch width on the drum ,approx 2 inches from the IB side edge. I have to replace drum after every 4k prints . I used to get around 60K prints on one drum unit.

I have replaced the developer, developer housing , drum unit . Any suggestions on what i should do next .

    Thanks
    David

Re: DC5000 Black drum premature failure issue

    update :

The root of the problem is there is a sponge rod brush inside the K drum cru right next to the cleaning blade. The sponge on the rod starts going after 1.5k prints and once it goes completely the drum is scratched.

I checked the waste toner pipes for any blocks or buildup . I wasnt able to spot any.

Any suggestions on what to followup on.
    Thanks
