WC 7665 - legal paper jams at exit

Hi, I have a customer that recently acquired a Xerox workcentre 7665, everything works, except single sided copies on legal paper(8.5X14). The jams occurs at the exit when 2 or more copies are made. the first sheet out of the exit hesitates, and it jams. I have used different trays and different direction for letter, but the result is the same (legal one side jams). Am I missing something since I hardly see Xerox copiers? Is there some timing issue? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

does the copier have a finisher?
    how about 11x17
    how about 2-sided
    try printing face up
sounds like the clutch in the invertor assembly

        +1.

Often intermittent jamming can masquerade as being isolated to one size or another.
Stress the machine in, say, A4 or standard letter LEF for at least a couple hundred copies and try to duplicate the problem.
I don't rule out 11x17 for testing, but sometimes Tabloid might "drag" itself through a sketchy issue without jamming, whereas Letter won't. (Plus Tab is a huge PITA to clear, lol.)

I concur with the inverter clutch as a possibility... Although, the only time I've had to go after that clutch for a similar issue, it didn't really fix my problem...

Turned out to be the inverter pinch roller nip adjustment.

First thank you for your response. By what I see at the copier, it points to the inverter rollers. As I stated in my initial comment, I'm not familiar with this model and don't have a manual for it. If you could let me know the step I need to take to adjust the inverter pinch, I would greatly appreciate it.

I did test letter size paper in both directions and all worked. I did not test 11x17 paper because my customer does not use that size. The copier has a shift tray. As far as printing all face up, they copy contracts which need to stay in the same order as the originals.

I think I addressed everything. Thanks again for your help.

Face up has nothing to do with orderIf face up works fine then your problem is the invertor and more than likely just the clutch and nit the rollerHow many copies are on the machine

No I don't, but if you could get it to me I would appreciate it.

But, thank you all for your input, I adjusted the inverter nip and all is working fine.
