    7655

    Hello all

I've got a job to go to tomorrow on a 7655. I'm not a xerox guy so please be kind!

the customer has complained that the machine prints what sounds like a status page after every print job.
they do not want this. I've downloaded drivers and user guides from xerox but can't find out
how to switch this off. i have found the option to switch off the config. report at switch on but i don't
think this is what they want turned off.

    anyone got the fix/info?

Sounds like Banner Pages are turned on.

I'm not in front of a WC---- So, you'll need to be a tech with me on this.

Select Log In/Out key and log in as Admin (ID & password should be in your documentation).

Select Machine Status key > touch Tools...

It's in there somewhere... I think something to do with Output... I'm very sorry, I go to it by autopilot... It's like asking me my gf's phone number... Wha...? It's "phone-- call hot mama-- mobile", whatcha mean?

When you find it, make desired selection and 'No' for Allow Driver Override. Exit Admin and reboot.

    Hth.

Banner pages on the 7655 are from the driver. If you look in the properties section, in advanced, it's labeled as Job Identification. You can disable that and it'll take care of the page from printing at the end of every job.

banner sheets can be disabled in tools and not in the driver
go into tools and disable it

            Hello out there

I switched banners off on the machine. banners are in the pcl driver but not in the xerox all-in-one driver.

thanks for your help from a Sharp guy

if you tuen it off on the copier then you dont have to deal with the driver issue
thats how you would do it the right way
download the operator manual from the xerox website and learn
do it the right way or just dont do it at all

Hey Mr. Attitude!!!!!!Obviously you have a problem.... why are you subscibed to a help forum with an attitude like that??????

If you had read my first post properly you would have seen that I had downloaded the manual. On reading it didn't know what banners were or that this was the problem the customer had complained about and this is the first Xerox I have laid hands on.

For your info I do it the right way.
                Your comments are most welcome

                kind regards

Sorry, here's the info you need

                  login/logout
                  username: admin
                  passcode: 1111

go to tools, then user interface.

You'll see an option to disable the banner sheet

Didn't realize the machine had the option as I'm used to going into the drivers and manual disable them on all the other machines I've worked with

                              Either, actually.

I recommended changing the setting at the machine level because most of my customers don't want banner pages. The other few who do, want it on for all users. In either case, it is easier and safer to make the setting at the output device level and simply disable driver override.

When electing to disable Banner Pages at the driver level, in the case of a server shared driver (most common with my customer base), it's recommended to make the setting at the server level. The new settings should push out to the client level, although it may be necessary to delete the printer instance and re-add it.

In the case of individual workstation driver installs, and electing not to disable Banner Pages at the copier level, it is necessary to choose the feature on each workstation. This is most useful when some users desire Banner Pages and other do not. Whatever the copier setting, ensure Driver Override is Enabled.

I don't know about All-In-One or Universal drivers -- I don't use them; they're silly -- but in the PS driver, the setting may be found in Printing Preferences, under the Advanced tab. Paper/Output > Banner Sheet > Enabled or Disabled.
