I have a docucolor 12 and the toners are getting quite expensive. Someone told me I can use the docucolor 6060 toner to refill and it would be more economical. Is that true?

Re: docucolor 12 toner
Indeed the same thing, I've done it a lot with toner from my 2060 which is the same as 6060 toner (and 2045 and 5252). I've even scraped out the augers of my (still) not running DC2060 to keep my DC12 running when there's been a local shortage of toner.Comment

Re: docucolor 12 toner
Thanks for this. About how many refills can I get from the 6060 toner cartridge into my dc 12 cartridge?Comment

Re: docucolor 12 toner
No, it's not the same toner at all, the DC12 toner works with oil fusing and the 3535 toner doesn't. It's also not the same quantity, the 3535 CMY toners have just under 400 grams of toner while the black has closer to 700 grams. The 3535 toner is usually quite a bit more expensive than the DC12 tonerComment

Re: docucolor 12 toner
I didn't know that before two weeks, and put 1xCMY 3535 toner in my 2060 machine!
Yellow and Cyan dev Unit losses developer from magnetic roll almost completely and toner powder was..everywhere..on drum and assy. Print was horrible.
Than I changed Y/C developer, but didn't remove 3535 toner from pipes and toner reservoir. I just put in new original 2060 catridges.
Will new developer be able to draw out the old toner, or I will soon again have to put a fresh developer?
and why does that toner ejects developer at all? Is it because the toner is oily?Comment
