[Misc] xerox dc5000ap icicle oil marks

    Hi,

I am getting what look like icicle shaped oil marks showing up on copys, it is especially noticeable when printing darker solids on heavier weight stocks ie. 300gsm, it also particularly shows if for instance, printing white text on black back ground, the icicle shaped oil marks come off the white text front edge to back, almost as if excess oil is being dragged off, if that makes any sense!!.....any ideas.

    Cheers

    Billy

Those are called watermarks and it is caused by your fuser belt assy having the wrong pressure applied to the fuser roll. Go into your PWS and print the ladder test pattern to show the defect more clearly. Your fuser belt assy may be adjusted wrong, the bearing could be shot on one of the fuser assy rolls or it is misadjusted. It may also just need new parts in the fuser assy and to be rebuilt.

Brilliant Milo, thanks for your help, it was the fuser belt assembly that needed adjustment.

          Cheers
