WC 5675 Additional memory required & no e-mail or network scan

Hi,

I am having a problem with a work centre 5675 that has the message "Additinal memory required- call for assistance" with no e-mail and network scanning but printing. I tried changing memory for epc and controller and reload software. Reloading software works but if machine is popo the message comes back. I also notice that some jobs hangs with a message "pending" and popo would cause job to print but the message appears and no scanning features. To me seems like memory, but I tried changing them and still not working. Any help please!!

You need minimum 1024 MB of memory in net controller for scan without to have S2X Pwb. Epc memory dont count here.
If you have S2X pwb in your net controller then 765 MB is ok.
In both situation you need activation card of course.

now that you mention controller memory, there is 2x 256Mb in the controller but, config sheet is only showing 1x 256Mb. The strange thing is the machine was working for years with the present configuration doing email and network scans and print. But I will try increasing memory to 1Gb like you suggested. I did not get the sx2 part of your reply. The controller is separate and mounts to the rear of the machine. There is only one board in the controller with a board in one of the PCI slots for colour.

Yes this board in pci slot in net contrl is s2x pwb. It is a scan interface and it have own memory.
But motherboard on net contrl must have minimum 512 MB for scan to work. One of 256mb memory is fault.
Buy another 512 mb and change it and everything will be ok.

You are right, one of the 256mb was bad. I replace with 512, to get as close to 1024 as I could. This was a good one, at one time the machince booted up fine, then I look at the config sheet and there was 512Mb of controller memory. then I popo and the machine boot with additional memory message and 256Mb of controller memory I then knew controller memory was the problem.
