        1. Docutech 120 has MFF-12-1279 MFF-12-1269 Error codes and a belt that has come off in the sorter.

        2.WC Pro C3545 Jamming

3.M35 Needs a Internal network Board

4.WC C3240 PCQ and No scan to Email capabilities

Please understand all information was supplied by the customer.

I am not a Xerox Tech (worked for them in 88 on the 1050 which is NO help now)

I am the owner and I am willing to pay for a Xerox tech to help me out!

Shoot I would give the other 3 a shot but that 120 is a scary beast!

$250 seems fair for a few hours work. However I would pay the right person more. Are you the right person? Or are you just trying to embarrass me?

With the average being $125 an hour the minimum would be around $500,so you are low

Thats an easy full days worth of work with those issues you listed, not counting the "Oh as long as you here can you connect all these to our network so we can scan and print right away?"
Id do the Doucutech for 250 bucks alone with those codes.

LOL no it is indeed costing me more than $250

I would like to point out that $250 was the minimum I was willing to pay.

                      Thank You for the input.

Re: NEED A TECH FOR A DAY

Anyone experienced doing this as a side job doesn't need $125 per hour. They have no overhead, no office building, secretaries, sales/support staff or any of the MANY other costs that makes a DEALERSHIP charge the hourly rate that they charge. Plus if the guy gives you cash under the table then you just saved about 30% right there in all the taxes, medicare, etc.

It's just like my attorney that charges $250 per hour. They're not worth it and they don't actually make $250 per hour. They have equipment, furniture, support staff, and a huge-ass building. Yes they do still make a lot of money but they have big expenses and law school debts higher than my mortgage...that's how they get to some outrageous hourly rate.

But overall market conditions will dictate based on the number of service people willing to do this and how badly the guy needs the service people. Of course, the rate can't be higher than Xerox direct or there's no incentive.

Side note: You other techs might hate this or boo and it's hard to understand when you're just getting a small chunk of the pie as an employee, but if you ever start your own dealership you will begin to think differently of all these other aspects.
