Are these Xerox copiers decent?

We are a local independent copier/printer service and sales business and we are looking to expand our product line to Xerox. We are looking to purchase several Xerox Workcentre 5638, Xerox Workcentre 5632, Xerox Workcentre 4150xs, Xerox Workcentre Pro 265, Xerox Workcentre 5050 and Xerox Workcentre 123. If these are decent copiers and would serve us well, then please let me know. If these machines are not very reliable and will end up bankrupting us, then by all means please let us know. We have over 17 years of digital copier experience as well as over 5 years of plotter and wide format sales and service. We are able to get parts and service manuals for all of these machines and we are currently servicing several of these models already. Also, what would be some good Xerox color models that are reliable like the Ricoh 3235c and the 3500c. Thanks a million.

Xerox 5638-32 very reliable machines, with very few "bugs". That's my opinion.
You have to know that these use print and fuser module, which has been limited by chip to around 300K. I've seen people reset these chips but print module could fail even before it's end of life. It's very important to clean transfer corona (let's say every 50K).
For example, month ago I sold one used 5638 with 500K. We put new drum and fuser unit and did a good cleaning, and by now the customer has made 120K without complaining. You may have to sometimes reinstall system software on network controller.


Xerox color models. That would be DC 250-252 series. New series is Xerox Color 550/560. The best ever!

To service these Xerox copiers/printers requires a laptop with the electronic documentation, or EDOC,s, and diagnostic programs to link up to the machines to run programs for maintenance.
