[Misc] trying to setup scan to email

I have a customer who tried to setup scan to email on their Pro 275 and put settings in the wrong place.
when you go to scan or email the machine asks for a domain login and password. There is no domain. they are using a web based email.
Is there a way to clear out all the scan and email settings and start from scratch?

Go into the Web Interface of the copier and you can make all the necessary changes there. It will ask you for a password to save the changes and it is admin for the user name and 1111 for the password.

Tried to do that as well. When i try to remove the domain name from the web interface it tells me a valid domain is required and will not let me remove it.

Unfortunately I am not working on Xerox machines these days ... but what happens when you just put in a dummy domain, or workgroup, etc?
Domain name specified on the machine should not affect the machine in any way, especially that you say they have no domain.

Just make sure your smtp server is correctly entered, etc.. then change the domain name to what i've shown above.

one thing to also keep in mind with web-based email is that most of these Xerox machines don't support SSL authentication, so you need an email provider that has smtp without SSL .. which leaves out stuff like Gmail, for example. See http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/xe...tml#post290786 for a work-around.

Gotta have a domain name or most won't work. Just make something up in there.
