    Xerox WC 5687 Registration Question

    Hi,

Has anyone adjusted the Hortz. image position on this copier? Its off center by 2 mm on both sides leaving the back up off by 4mm. Tryed the 604 Registration Setup but it does not save the setting properly. If I reboot it doesn't stay saved??? Is this the only way to set the image registration. Any help really appreciated.

My experience is that to do dc604 properly, one must register all trays individually. Its a pain but doing the all trays just doesn't hold for me. I do all the trays front side, then the back sides.

Never had an issue were it resets after a reboot. I'd try a NVM reset. Don't forget to do a save before resetting, so that you can restore. Then run the dc604 again.

If your registration values are lost when you power off / on, you probably need to replace the software module. There is a battery on this board. If the battery is too low or dead you will loose your NVM settings on a power off.

From speaking with xerox Engineering we have found this battery to go bad within 2 years.

Measure battery (on board). 2.8V is bad... You can replace battery with ordinary one (CR 30xx, or 20xx) 3V Li with few adjustments (wire, soldering...).
