    synergix 8850 scan with green tint in color mode

    I have a xerox synergix 8850 color scanner we had the bulb replace recently, I notice they had replaced it with a green bulb now color scans are scanned with the same shade green tint as the bulb any idea why this is. It scans black ok .

    If the lamp=bulb was already replaced with new one check the following;

    Insure that the clear portion of the fluorescent lamp will face upward and towards the front of the Scanner.

    Perform the Exposure Lamp Initialization as described in the Synergix service manual performed. It takes a while !

    When this procedure is performed the scanner display indictes that it is complete after a short time. The full effect of this adjustment will not occur until the calculated data is uploaded to electronic device on the Scanner Main PWB which take about 30 minutes after "Complete" is show on the display.

    Make sure there are no scratches or dirt on the platen.

    Use the Scanner Diagnostic to clean the white calibration strip as described in the Synergix service manual.
    Perform the Calibration Motor Test as described in the Synergix sm.

    Or may be wrong part number for the lamp !

          These scanners came with green exp. lamps. Whenever the color option is added the exp last must be changed to white florescent. You likely have the old style lamp. The correct lamp will not glow green.
