    How to clear "Replace Transfer Unit" on the Phaser 6180

    Hello everyone

    We have a client with a phaser 6180 that is displaying "Replace Transfer Unit" is there a way to clear that indicator with out changing the transfer unit?

    If you can find a way to go into the maintenance mode and then print maintenance then you will find the code to reset that error code. It should be in your service manual.

      I did enter service mode by holding down "up" & "down" arrows, I did not find a specific program to clear the counter for the transfer unit. So I was wondering if anyone with experience on this model would be able to help us. Thanks for the help sincerely.

        Sorry, there is no way to reset the belt life (but the fuser life can be). The transfer belt has a crum chip on it that stores the life value. Either replace the chip (if you can find one) or replace the belt. We have the belts new in stock here:

            These CAN be reset, but that's only part of what needs to be done.

            There's a waste toner collector that needs to be emptied too. If this becomes over-full waste toner can end up insdie the printer.

            You'll find a clean and reset service if you look for it.
