    Missing Cyan with printing

    Good day,

After surfing over this site and reading a lot of solutions for very different problems, here's one of my one.

The problem is a DC250 with fiery RIP.

Copymodus is ok and give me all the colors I want (CMYK), but when I want to print something it's complete missing the cyan color.
I think that the problem cannot be in the machine itself because with copying there's no problem.
It's also very strange that I dont receive an errorcode.

Resetting or restarting machine or RIP didn't help, anybody a clue?

    Thanks in advance.

It sounds like a rip problem to me. If it copy's ok
But first do a auto gradation print out to test the m/c inter printing for all colour's..
Then test the fiery by setting it to print a start-up page and see if it prints all colour's..
That will help u pin point were the problem is coming from to take the next step..

Thanks for your answer,Like I said in the copymodus are all colors available, but when I make by example a colorcalibration page from CWS the cyaan color is complete missing.I think the same like you did, that the problem is in the Rip and not in the copier itself. Is it a solution to reinstall the software on the rip again or is there something else I can try before, because it seems to be a lot of work to reinstall the RIP.Correct me if I'm wrong. Also the Rip's indicator is on "00" and seems to be fine.So if you can suggest the next step, I'm very pleased.CCPaul

No, unfortunality I don't have one. Is that the only way to fix it?

          Thanks for your time.

Oke, thanks for your answer. Maybe anybody else has a solution, otherwise I have too look for somebody with PWS on his laptop.

First try to reinstall Fiery. I suppose you speak about embeded fiery and you check already the cables from fiery to machine for bent pins and good electrical contact.
Also you can try to reseat the cables and electronic cards from inside the fiery.

That's correct it's the fiery as a box placed on the back of the machine.
All the cables are checked pluged out and replaced, when I send a black and white file to the printer it comes out like I wanted.

Is it possible to reinstall the software on the fiery without using PWS?

                  Thanks,

Of course you can install Fiery sw without PWS. You use the instalation disc and can use PC with CD-ROM or DVD-ROM unit. You need PWS only if you want to make some diagnostic tests or some adjustments on your DC250 machine. Will be nice to have PWS if you want to self service this color box. And the PWS is not so expensive as you think. For more details you can email me at stoadis@gmail.com
