[Misc] Xerox 4110 - Cleaning cartridge replacement advice with new fuser web kit !?

    Hello forum,

I bought a used 4110 which continously shows following error message:

"The cleaning cartridge needs to be replaced. (Call for service)"

But the fuser cleaning web kit has been replaced with a new one and the error message still remains.. Searched with Google without any success..

Is the an failure memory which has to be cleared in some way? Any other idea???

    Would appreciative any advice!

    Helpless,

    1. In the User Mode screen, press the [9] key and the [Stop] key at the same time.
    2. The Replace Consumables screen appears.
    3. The "Have you replaced the Fuser Cleaning Web" message appears with [Yes] and [No] buttons.

    4. Press the [Yes] button to reset the Current Value to "0".

If you are using the newer long life cleaning cartridges, there are several NVMs that require updating to make the message more accurate. And the instruction sheet inside the box explains the STOP-9 reset procedure for replacement. If you do a STOP-9 on a partially used cartridge, you will have a sudden hard failure, and depending on how well the web is bonded to the supply roll, you may have hard damage to the heat roll, when the web does run out.
