Hi, I have a 7556 that will reboot, with code 6 HD fail, wend I connect the HD SATA to my laptop it show 15 partition and they are in unknow format. Any Idea. Xerox want $350.00 for 160 GB HD.

Buy another hdd, preferably same manufacturer, and reload firmware. It is cheaper way to resolve your issue.

Thanks, The proble is that in the only way that you can reload the SW is using the USB. Turn on the machine a USB connected the machine will boot from the USB. The machine will check the HD and it need to have the partition, if the boot dont find the partition it will give a fault. Insert the USB and turn on the machine.

There is application named SBC AlternateBoot used to load software on hdd

Thank, The procedure tel me to use a communication cable with RJ11 one side and serial on the other side any idea how is the configuration of the cable.

I think it is RJ45. This type of serial cable is used at some models of Cisco routers or you can ask Xerox for it

Hi, The connector on the board is not a RJ45 only have 6 pin.
