for lakes machines you must create active case for your machine,
then start diag thoriug internet explorer, product tools, dcs40-65 diag,
active case must be for dcs40-65, not for dc 255 or dc 470,
must have 9 pin serial cable to connect machine with laptop.

problem is not strange,
remove all xerox aplication, then install them again and everything should work fine.
have same problem with diag and multiple version handler and HP laptop.
Made backup, format hdd, reinstall everything and problem was gone.
