Xerox Phaser 7500 need Belt home position sensor part # can't find in manual

Cleaned belt patch and HPS but still get accumulating belt home position took too long message. Diagnostics shows belt home position sensor low. Could not find part number in the service manual parts list. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

If the patch on the belt is dull you may have to replace the belt.

Thank you Flash but if the diagnostic test of the home position sensor says low is that just involving the sensor or is it involving the sensor and patch together? Also do you have part # for HP sensor? Also is it reasonable to think you could take off old patch and glue on a foil same size? Frank

I am not 100% sure but I think the part# is 130K71470. It is worth a shot gluing a foil patch over the patch. I have not tried it on a 7500 but I have on a 7345. The patch on those is on the inside of the belt.

Thanks a lot Flash. I check out that part number. I don't know why i couldn't find it in manual. What about that other question? When you do a diagnostic test on the home position sensor and you get a low reading is it strictly the sensor or is it registering the sensor to patch reading? Just not very familiar with this machine. Frank

To check the sensor you would have to take the transfer belt out and open the shutter on the MOB sensor and flag it with a reflective patch to see if it changes state. The most likely cause is the patch on the belt is too dull to reflect light back to the sensor. Usually replacing the belt takes care of it. On other models if you get the belt code 3 times in a row you have to reset a NVM in diagnostics. I am not sure if that is the case for the 7500.

Hi Flash. Thanks for being so patient and helpful . I see why i did not fing the Home position sensor for belt in the parts list. They sell you the whole assembly which is ridiculous. I don't see that with other companies like Canon,Sharp,Toshiba,Kyocera and others . They will sell the sensor individually for the sensors. You don't have to pay over a hunded dollars to get a $15 sensor. Also the MOB ADC unit was on a page with aright side and rear view which was weird as I was expecting to be on a left side view.
You are right though. That is the correct part number for the unit that has that sensor on it I guess with the ADC patch sensors.
I just realized one very important fact,I think. I realized that I had to enter diagnostics as the accumulator belt too long to HPS showed up more than twice. What I forgot is you have to select a Clear Rep Fault. I thought you just had to enter diagnosics and it would automatically reset. So maybe I am still in good shape. I am going back Monday to reset the Clear tech Rep and also bringing foil and glue ti replace old patch if necessary. Thanks again.
By the way, Flash, I see that your town of Wake Forest was the original home of Wake Forest University for 122 years before moving to Winston Salem in 1956. I almost went to W.F in Winston Salem in 1966 but opted out of going to college though my dad was willing to spring for the tuition. Also I am amazed at the population growth there since 2010. Have a nice time at Mardi Gras next week. Frank
