    XEROX 500 toner

    Hi people. Please help with one dilemma. I have xerox 550 and its in Europe I have bought some toner with code starting 006r01522 but my machine uses starting with 006r01529 I was told if I use the toner I bought it will set the machine for us region and will no longer accept my standard toner is this true. thanks in advance.

    I believe it's true.
    But you can try to put your old chip to new toner cartridge.

        I use this trick on DC 250.
        And I think that works on 550.

        Just try it and post back result

          Will try but still have 90 % of old toner and will take some time to get it to zero befour I have to but US toner.

            you can change the NVM's to make your machine a US one from Xerox Europe. I had bought a US DC5000 and changed the NVM's so no it accepts Xerox Europe drum and toner.

            and the chip change works for the DC5000 also so i think it will work for the 500 as well
            a machine is only as good as your tech : source:screwtape ; the scary one
