Phaser 6110 redistribute the toner?

I'm not a Xerox man, but noticed this in the manual. If the toner reaches empty, u can shake it or redistribute the toner as the call it in the manual.

Is dis true? I would think that trying to print with no toner supply would cause the starter to drop out of the developer ending it;s life.

No, that manual (page 2.2) is referring to shaking the new toner cartridges.

I see more on page 5.2. I bet your just shaking loose toner that is stuck to the side of the cartridge. I'm sure the density sensors will stop the printing long before the developer is ruined.
