Sounds like a bad connection to a sensor, or a bad sensor. Try re-seating the connector going to the sensors in the center of the document path. If yours is a scanner with a serial number beginning with PKU, then re-seat the connectors going to the interconnect board. This board is mounted to the underside of the document shelf.

i have tried re-seating the connectors but i still get the same error: "SE: REMOVE MEDIA"
if i open the handler, i get the msg: "SE: **ERR** INTERLOCK OPENED"
if i start the controller I get the following message: "NOT READY REMOVE DOCUMENT"
if i open the handler i get the following message: "NOT READY LOWER DOCUMENT HANDLER"
the interlock/handler message stays on the display even if i close the document handler
i have opened up the equipment, cleaned it and checked for stuck paper but its all clear
i also reseated all the connectors, i also used contact spray to clean the contacts on the main connectors
i am running out of ideas, can anyone please help?
In that case, you probably have a bad sensor or sensors. Depending upon the model scanner, there is an interface board that could be at fault, but they rarely fail. We stock the sensor if you want to go that route. cbyrne@goevergreen.net
now i have another problem.. when i try to scan a document i get the error 50000017
when i was re-seatting the sensors i also pressed both reset and flash buttons on the circuit board
the point is, now the scanner is working fine with the controller with the exception of scanning... when i get that error
