[Electrical] Docucolor 260 - Strange power issue (Poss. 16-351)

    Hi all,

I have a Docucolor 260 with what appears to be a slightly unusual power issue.

When the machine is switched on, out of the 3 LED's that denote that the correct voltages are getting to the machine, only the Green 3v is illuminated and the inturrupt button flashes on the UI.

As soon as I turn the machine off, effectively putting it into shutdown mode, all of the power leds illuminate.

At first this suggested to me that there was something overloading the power supply (and that still may be the case) but I have tried powering it on with the drawer open and various components disconnected in order to try and diagnose it and get the same results.

I only have the 250 edoc so am half blind on the 260 as it is slightly different inside. I do get a 16-351 error code on the UI when I power off the machine, but I don't know what this error code means as I don't have the 260 edoc.

Has anybody had a similar experience with the DC 260? And if so, what did you do to repair it?

Sounds like the LVPS or the AC power module is bad. You can get the LVPS or the AC pwb seperately or get both together as 1 unit. The ac pwb is what the main power plugs into, the LVPS is what bolts to the AC pwb in the lower left back of the machine. The AC pwb is rated for 220 volts AC on the 260 and is a different part number than the 250 AC pwb.

I changed the AC power module with the LVPS as a complete unit but it made no difference. Aslo swapped out the Driver pwb and that didn't work either. Does anybody know what 16-351 means?

If you replaced the LVPS and still have the same issue most likely something is shorting out. I would try the unplugging the image disk first. They used to short out on previous generations causing similar issues

Yes, I did a 250 some time ago where the drive caused the problem. I have tried it on this one though and it still does the same thing. I have also tried powering it on with the drawers open the various HVPS pwb's and the ros units disconnected because I was thinking along those same lines, but that still makes no difference.

Are there any indicators lighting up on the UI? I had an issue where there was a low voltage power supply problem and the connecting board between your network interface board and IOT mainboard.
Does it have a stand alone controller or a bustled one?
