    7120,7535 Ethernet ports are dead

Hi guys, in the past 3 months i came across 2 7535's and a 7120 that suffered power surges. The only fault that occurred on all 3 machines was the ethernet ports were no longer working. Does any one know how to maybe fix this. I had a close look at the board for something like an integrated circuit protector or fuse but i could not find anything. These boards are very expensive to replace and 2 of my customers does not have insurance. In the meantime i have set them up for usb printing.

    Thanks alot

Well, unfortunately the only fix I'm aware of is to replace the SBC boards (I'm talking about the 7535, I'm sure the 7120 is the same. Haven't had the opportunity on that one yet.) Yes, its a huge bill, but unless your an electrical engineer, I don't know how to troubleshoot at a component level. You might want to try and see if Hytec can repair the boards.

For the future, if these customers are prone for surges, I'd recommend investing in a surge protector that is meant for copier machines.
