WC 5225 won't accept OEM cartridge #106R01413

Customer called yesterday to say he tried changing 2 different cartridges i sold him and the machine is still telling him to change toner. I sold him 2 with the #106R01413 which is the OEM lower yield(20K). Any info you can offer is very much appreciated. I have 2 more of the same in stock and don't want to go there until I have a little more info Theses are brand new cartridges. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

Try with 106R01306.

Also, Solution : Make Sure the Correct Cartridge is Installed

Compare the new cartridge to the old cartridge and make sure they have the same part number.

It is definitely a Xerox OEM cartridge in a Xerox box. Xerox makes a few different cartridge for the 5225. Each cartridge has a different yield. I swapped the little card that slides out on the side of cartridge and then it worked . Ibelieve its the crum chip but evidently I bought 4 cartridges with bad chips. Frank

Thanks Livewire but didn't seem to have anything to do with meter. I swapped out the identical chip with same number (160k95122 k1). Frank

The number you are giving for the Xerox 5225/5230 is the cartridge ID # and not the chip number.
The cartridge you mention 106R01305 is good for 30K
The cartridge I sold is the 106R01413 for same machine but only 20K yield.

Both of the cartridges use the identical chip(160K95122 K1). I know this because today I removed 2 chips from the high yield 106R01305 cartridge and swapped them with the bad identical chips in the 106R01413 cartridges. Sometimes Xerox makes more than one cartridge for same machine and in this case I believe it has more to do with yield and price then metered and non metered. Frank

Today I checked our toner cartridges. We sell 106R01413. The chip number is FХ 160K95122 K1.
Perhaps the information on the chip is for another region, maybe Europe. It is possible that the chips are defective. It is possible that the chips are healthy. Maybe converting the machine from metered to sold will make things right.
