    [Misc] Kynar / Dusting pouch

    Hi.
Is there a substitute to kynar (aka. dusting pouch) that I can get my hands on outside of the official xerox channel?
I believe there must be a way to get my hands on this product or a substitute: It's been quite useful since i get a lot of problems when printing too many copies in black with my xerox 700...
If anyone could shed some light on this matter, that would be great.

    Thanks

Hi. You can purchase it from parts suppliers. Even katun has it. Check this out : *Tech Aids* KYNAR Dusting Powder, Genuine (A5000) . It's not that hard to find. Good luck. PS : what do you use it for?

      Thanks for your reply.
I need it because I developed an addiction for it from an extensive use during the years.
Just Kidding.... We use our color machines for printing a huge amount of black and white documents and the cleaning part with the toner disposal gets stuck and sometimes we have to open the machine and vacuum all the remains.
Afterwards, the plastic part that gets in contact with the transference belt remains too clean and the next copies come out stained because this plastic part is not smooth.
One solution for this is to impregnate it with toner, but the best way to go is to pour some kynar dust over the whole part and the transference belt: But this dust is only owned by the xerox tec support guys.....

      Thanks again.

for years (about 20) I have been using baby powder on drums and transfer belts and haven't had any issues with it, I would sprinkle on drum or belt and rotate to passover cleaning blade and your done. Best of all if I run out I go to any drug store chain they should have the travel size of baby powder.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

This is what I was aiming for as an answer but didn't mention it afraid of sounding silly...
Baby powder it is since I'm in Spain and the only place I found it online makes me have to import it...

Thank you very much for the suggestion!

We just use plain fresh toner for this. Even the Kynar powder from Katun sometimes has lumps in it which can travel into the developer when used for the developing unit.

I emptied one of the Katun pouches and filled it up with toner. Works perfect.

(Didn't claim at the supplier though that there are lumps in their product cause it would most likely only provoke the standard answer: "You Are The First With This Complaint, We Are Selling Every Month A Hundred-thousand Of That Item Without Any Reclamations" )

              Have to agree with Hansoon.
I used to use Katun powder and baby powder but simply use the toner.
