The Xerox 5065 II is maybe the same machine as the DC 250 in the USA / Europe.
The machine was working perfectly fine on Friday, there was loads of dust hanging out of the control box. I unplugged the entire machine, disconnected the Fiery controller and got a can of Oxgen. Blew out all the dust, waited 5 hours then plugged it all back in. The Fiery controller is a box that is connected to the back of the Xerox machine.
The Xerox 5065 II starts up fine, goes through the start up and has the 2 functions (copy & stored programming) highlighted. It copies fine. Networking scanning and Web are not highlighted so cannot print to the machine.
Thought it was the network cable, changed the network cable. Turned machine off and on and has the same response. Took the cover off the Fiery controller and there is a light on the MB and lights were the network cables are plugged in.
No fans were working at all. Thought it maybe the power supply, changed the power supply and the same thing with the lights and no fans. Not sure if the fans are started after startup.
So, took out hard drive and put into a PC with no other hard drive. It did not boot up past Lilo and I am not sure if this is normal or not, maybe it needs a command from the machine to boot up.
I did a fair bit of reading since Friday, some suggest to reload the Fiery, I have no discs and cannot. We no longer get serviced by Xerox as we do not meet their monthly expectations and they cancelled our maintenance agreement. I have a job that I need to print on this machine in the next day or so, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
