    xerox 4595 constantly rebooting.. help

    screen may come up with a bar, scanner lights up and moves a few inches, document feeder raises then the machine shuts off and does it all again... over and over.

    cleaned out hvps and lvps everything seems to visually check out. blew out the area with the hard drive.. could it be a dead hard drive? I disconnected the scanner and doc feeder and it still happens.. any ideas?

    I couldnt find a rap in the edoc to check voltages.. is there one that I just cant find? The HVPS AND LVPS just tells you to check the plugs then replace the ess board bassically.

      Its the very first RAP in the EDOC. Chain 1, AC drive PWB / Main LVPS Power RAP.

          Yea !!! I found it today !! its in initial actions.. LOL.. hopefully i will be heading over there thursday morning and give it a go... I think its gonna be the hvps or lvps...or if anything i will find out what is shorting out either of the two... thanks.. i will keep ya posted..

              I had a 4595 that would not boot at all. When I spoke to Xerox tech support, they told me to replace both the HVPS and LVPS at the same time. They told me that a problem with one can "take out" the other if replaced one at a time. I replaced both at the same time and my machine worked great.

                  ok.. sounds good.. and a safe aproach. just outta curiosity...how much are both gonna run in price? if you dont know off hand we will look into it tommorrow.
                  I couldnt find any off market..

                  it might be more economic to buy another machine to fix this and for parts later.

                  thanks again.. hopefully i can do some voltage research and see whats up

                      The UI status bar has five segments. First seg. is filled and second begin when machine reboot ?

                          IT doesn't even make it that far before restarting. You can hear the relays clicking. Like power on... 2-3 seconds then shutdown. And repeat
