    770 toner CRUM problem

    Hey everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season.

I have a 770 that shows ZERO on all the toners in the supplies screen. I have run out of potential fixes. The following are the procedures I have done:

Changed toner cart. with good known values

    Changed the CRUM

    Changed the MCU PWB

    Checked continuity between connectors.

I don't see anything else I could possibly check or replace.

Any ones help is greatly appreciated..

Go into diagnostics and turn on the toner dispense motors. If the developer is not getting toner it assumes the cartidge is empty. I would take a good look at the toner dispense system.

Also check the software level, what software level you are currently at and reload possibly or initialize the nvms.

        MCU NVM dont function properly.
Try to synchronize the serial number. Several attempts may be needed
Check if the software of all machine platforms are at the same level. Post here config. report from machine.

There must be some errors on machine.

I did a NVM reset PWR STOP 3

Also has error code 10-324 (Fuser NVM Fail)

When I try to Sync the SN SYS2 isn't present and fails to sync.

IOT and SYS1 SN are the same

          Thanks for the help

Sys2 fail to sync mean incorrect serial number or there isnt any serial ?
If you have incorrect sn you can try to select sys1, reenter the serial number and sys2 will syncronize.
If not you need to change ESS NVM pwb
What software version is on to machine ?

I have changed the ESS NVM PWB with two others. They show up with the SN but fails to sync. Both the IOT and SYS1 SN are the same. Not sure what the SW version is. Would it be helpful to reload the SW?

Yes reload the 1.2 software version and after that try again to resyncronize.

Yes Milo, but simply reloading the software will not resolve the problem.
We only hope that after reloading some nvm's will go in the default state which will helps us to do in a easy mode the resyncronize procedure.

Thanks for all your help guys. Sorry Milo you were a step ahead of me.

So my SW version is 1.6.0

I have 3.2.54 and 3.7 which one do you recommend I install? I know some systems you need to step up the SW versions.

                      Thanks again

None of them if your machine is 770 DCP
You have sw version for 700 - 700i DCP
You need pws tool for 770 and sw version 1.2 which is in fact 1.6.0 system software, 1.230.1 controller sw and 91.22.0 IOT sw.

I had a similar problem before and removing the battery from MCU board and reinstalling after 5 min resolved it

OK I'm at the end of my rope.

I reinstalled SW Version 1.2 and the same thing...

When I try to sync the serial numbers it fails. I have tried numerous times with the same results.

Sys2 (ESS NMM PWB) is blank on the Serial Sync screen, if I replace it with another (from a 700 with same PN) it appears on the screen but fails to sync.

I do get a 94-322 Second BTR Retract Failure.

I'm at a loss for what to do next.

I don't know how I missed this but I did. This worked for the SN Sync but I'm back to my original problem now. All of my consumable values are @ zero.

I found a Eureka for a 700 (not a 770) but when I executed the procedure I don't have the CRUM NVMs.csv its asking for in my V1.2 software pack.

                              Here is the procedure:

                              Problem:

All consumables at Zero percent life remaining after MCU NVM replacement.

When this part is replaced perform the following steps:
                              • Synchronize the serial number. This may not take the first time and can take several attempts.
                              • Once the serial number is synchronized, check software levels are compatible if not then resolve the software mismatch. If the machine is at V2.0 software load the script files that came with the software.
                              • Next Load the attached script file using the following directions;
                                1. Save the attached script file to a location on your desktop that you will remember.
                                2. Connect USB cable to X700 DCP and start NVM access Tool.
                                3. Select NVM Access in the DC Quick menu.
                                4. Select Open Script File. Browse to the file you have saved in step 1
                                5. Select the 700DCP CRUM NVMs.csv script. Select Open Script File.
                                6. Select Create Snapshot
                                7. After the snapshot has been created select Restore Snapshot.
                                8. When the NVM write is complete, select File then Exit. Select Cancel do not save the Machine Data file.
                                9. Power off IOT using the switch at the top of the IOT. Wait until the? Blue? LED on the UI turns off
                                10. Power ON IOT.
