[Misc] Password recovery on Xerox 4127

Hi, I've recently bought a refurbished Xerox 4127 printing system. I need to change the IP address and other parameters, but I don't have the Administrator's password, and it's has been changed from the default 11111 password.

Does anyone knows how to recover the current password on this machine, or maybe reset the printer to the default settings?

I have a Canon printer with a Fiery controller, and I remember I was able to recover the password by sending a .PS file to print in the machine with specific instrucions I've found on this same forum.

Please I need your help on this, thanks !

Hi,

the password on Xerox 4127 is not the 11111.


1. Press the Log In/Out button.

2. Enter the System Administrator ID with the numeric keypad, and select Enter.

Note: The default User ID value is 11111. When using the Authentication feature, a password is

required. The default password is x-admin.

3. Press the Machine Status button on the Control Panel.

4. Press the Tools tab.

5. Select the appropriate Mode, Group, and Feature.

Try this:
should enter the diagnostic mode.
-Select Machine Status button;
-Select Tools menu on touch screen;
-Select Authentication/Security Settings;
-Select System Administration Settings;
-Under Features menu you can select to change the Login ID and or Passcode.
