    Xerox DC5000 connection

I need your help on a Xerox DC5000 machine that am trying to assemble.
    I have some queries..

    1. The machine didn't come with the Dell machine which acts as a UI. Can I use another pc/laptop to access the machine? Or does someone have the DC5000 system software (Windows XP)?

    2. The license for the freeflow RIP that came with it expired, and I bought a creo cxp50 which in turn didn't come with the dfe cables. Am trying to connect using the freeflow dfe cables, but all am getting is 'no communication'.
Do I need to buy dfe cables for the creo rip?

    Regards,
    David

you can use any other computer even a laptop with Xerox UI software . You can use any version of the UI , just dont update the boards in the printer if you dont know what you are doing .

Yes Freeflow cables wont work with creo . You need to get creo cables.
