    DC 5000 / 7000 / 8000 - Toner/Developer Ratio

Does anybody know the ratio of toner to developer in the 12/2045/2060/5252/6060/5000/7000/8000 toner cartridges? For example, in the DocuColor 250 (EA-HG) and DCP700/etc (EA-Eco) there is 650g of toner and 87g of developer in each CMY cartridge and 650g toner and 130g developer in the K cartridge. Does anyone know this stat for the older oil-based toner? I know there are a lot of different sized cartridges for that toner, so if you know any one of them, I can just extrapolate to figure out the one I need.

    Thanks!

I think you can find out in the msds as a percentage by weight.

Unfortunately in the MSDS sheets, everything is given as a range of percentages (5-10%) which is much too inaccurate to actually use. They do that for privacy and secrecy.

Fortunately you err on the high side since housings use a trickle system.

Lack of precision to that degree makes me a little nervous...

I did find the details for the DocuColor 12, which can be used to extrapolate out for the various other machines which use the same toner.

For an individual DocuColor 12 cartridge:

          C) Toner:284g, Carrier:66g = Total:350g
          M) Toner:284g, Carrier:66g = Total:350g
          Y) Toner:284g, Carrier:36g = Total:320g
          K) Toner:284g, Carrier:66g = Total:350g

Yellow is interesting... I'm more experienced with the EA toners, where the CMY toners all use the same amount of carrier, and K has extra. But with the machines that use this toner, the Y is always the lowest. And K doesn't have extra, but is the same as C and M. Fascinating...
