Safely Removing the preinstalled Office Finisher from the WorkCentre 5845

    Hi,
In orderto reduce the space taken by the device, the customer would like to remove thefinisher that has been delivered with the WorkCentre 5845.
The functionalitiesprovided by the finisher are not necessary, but it was already installedat delivery.

I couldnot find any docs about installing or removing it.

Is itsomething that is easily done?
Onceremoved, do I need any additional elements?

    Thanksand regards.

The finisher is easy to remove. First power off the machine. Remove the finish power cord plugged to the back of the copier. Next remove the data cable (2 thumb screws) connected to the back of the copier. To get the finisher to detach from the copier, open the front door of the finisher and look for the release latch. The release latch are different depending on what finisher you have but are located in the same general area at the front of the finisher behind the finisher door close to the copier main body.

The machine will not function with nothing attached in its place. If a finisher is not installed, you will need to install an Offsetting Catch Tray (OCT). The OCT has a data / power cable that plugs into the same port that the finisher data cable uses.

      Exok,
      Thanks for the detailed answer.
Especially for the warning about the OCT, which was not delivered by default.
