    Fiery EX260 thinks it's connected to a DC250 but it's a DC242 - how to fix?

I have a used DC242 and a used Fiery EX260 which I suspect came from different sources (from a used copier sales warehouse).

Is there a way to configure the Fiery to tell it that it's connected to a 242?

Is there any difference between a DC250 and a DC242 when managing it through the Fiery?

    Thanks for any help.

EX260 is for use on a DC242/252/260. It wont work on a 240/250 that would be an EXP250

Well it's definitely an EX260 - says so on the splash screen - but the model is identified as a DC250

      Strange....

What says DC250? The printer? Look at the SN inside the left side door if it starts with DUX it's either a 242 or 252. VGW indicates a 240 or 250.

        Hope this helps..

No, the printer is a 242 as it says so everywhere

When I boot up the Fiery and run CWS it tells me it is connected to a DC250 and the printer is shown in the interface as being a 250.

I don't know if it makes any difference - it's just a little annoying.

Does anyone else have an EX260 and does it show the correct printer attached?

That's simply the printers designation in CWS. I believe you can change it but it's more work than it's worth.

Thanks - that's kinda what I thought as it all seems to work just fine - I just wondered if setting it 'correctly' would release some magic fairy dust
