    5135 machine id error

08-003=8, 03-015=8. I think these values need to be 6 for the 5135. To change these values, a password is needed. Anybody want to share the password? It thinks it's a 56. It may have the wrong controller on it. Is there a way to tell if it is a 56 or a 51?
    Thankx,
    \Glenn

8 is the right value for both nvm location.
Other things may be wrong. Try to disconnect the net controller and start the machine as a copier only.
    Check again the software module.
What firmware version is builtin the machine ?

Adrian, Thankx for your reply. Found the password. One of the locations was set to 6 (my mistake - I think 08-003 was actually at 6) - set it 8. Booted without the controller as you suggested, and the sw versions then came up - blank before. Now "Machine Speed ID invalid" message appeared. 03-008=158, 08-001=0, 08-004=1.

      System set= 183.213.237.64467
      SIP Boot code= 20.009.000
      SW Upgrade= 20.099.006
      SIP App= 20.047.012
      SIP IPP = 0.019.010\
Net Controller= unavailable - disconnected but never boots more than 75% when connected.
      GUI Boot = 20.005.001\
      GUI App = 20.013.079
      GUI VxWorks= 20.002.000
      \GUI SW Upgrd= 20.008.000
      DUI H8= 4.002.000
      IOT Bootstrap= 30.011.000

Put the external (multiboard) controller on 56 to see what would happen - to see if the controller was still unavailable. The message did not appear, but a SW upgrade (or down grade) started, but failed. There is a new battery on the 51.

      Thankx for any help.

      Glenn

        Set 03-012 to 38.
Then altboot NC with 21.120.52 software version.
Hook up the NC to the 5135, upgrade will be done and everything will be ok.
