DC242 cannot update scan templates from Fiery - any suggestions?

I have created some new scan templates on the Fiery and go to the DC242 to update the list of templates but after about a minute it gives an error message saying it was unable to update the templates.

It might be a password issue as I changed the admin user password on the Fiery to 11111 but I'm working in the dark as a newbie user

Any ideas why the DC won't talk to the Fiery - the Fiery talks to the DC for printing just fine - I'm just trying to get network scanning to work

    Thanks

Are you able to scan to the guest templates (BWGuest Grayscaleguest Colorguest)? Does your machine has the crossover network cable going from the machine to the fiery? If yes, then the fiery database may be corrupt, you can restore fiery default settings from web applications icon in All services, or trough the configure link on the DC webpage, or at the Command workstation server menu configure option.

    Hope this helps

Thanks - I finally fixed the problem...

I had the Fiery Scan port and the Xerox set to the same IP address range as the Fiery Network port (192.168.0.nnn) whereas I should have had the Xerox on a separate IP range (100.100.100.nnn) - once I fixed that everything started working
