Xerox 5755 Standard Fax kit Enable

First, fellow techs, thanks in advance for any help you provide me.

I'm installing a refurbished Xerox 5755 unit in a client's office, and it has the standard fax kit installed. (1 line) However, the previous client used the internet fax, which by default disables the standard fax feature. I need to be able to disable internet fax and re-enable the standard 1 line fax. On the main services screen, it has a button for internet fax, and not standard fax.

First, I should mention, the PCB fax kit is in place and it is operational. The problem is strictly in a protocol where it has been disabled.

Thanks for response, it's definitely installed. But the way the system works is if the internet fax is enabled, it by default disables the standard fax. Problem is, the internet fax overrides the standard fax, so turning the enable on for standard fax doesn't do anything. I need to locate where to "disable" internet fax, but couldn't find it.

I even tried the 'ol unplug and re-power on with it out, and then putting it back in and restarting system. It did recognize the fax kit, but then immediately went back to internet fax...

Good 'ol Xerox keeping things interesting.....

WOW!What a frustrating process! LOL Thank you for the above link, that helped me turn off the internet fax and initiate the standard fax board, but now it won't receive calls... It is not recognizing the phone line. I know the board is good, so it must have something to do with some "other" features that now need turned off so that it will seek the outside telephone line as the source.

Can anyone familiar with this saga help me get the actual fax line working now?

Solution : Enable or Disable the Advanced Capabilities Option for Faxing:

[Send Only]

Thanks for your help Live wire... I did note that at first attempt it would not actually work. But when I totally shut down the machine and allowed a restart, then suddenly, without recognition that a new card was installed, the fax line suddenly started working. But it definitely required a complete reboot and with the power cord unplugged to allow the cache memory to clear.

But the steps you gave above are spot on! Thank you sir!! Much obliged!!

This is hilarious! Thanks again for your help above livewire, it looks like your help with this fax board issues came in handy a second time, as I was just faced with the same challenge, and this previous exchange helped me fix the problem again yesterday with another Xerox 5755 unit I sold.

For those techs who have a ticketing system and can do searchable keywords on their systems, I highly recommend copying links to articles in help forums like I did with this one. You just never know when you'll need to revisit them again!
