    Old xerox DC12

Hi, sorry I know this is an old machine but a local scout group have it and it's been working great for ages but now has gone light on one side, when the copy exits portrait the furthest away side is really feint where the nearest end is ok. Any ideas guys as otherwise they may have to spend money which they haven't got.

    thanks

I've never seen the inside of this particular model but if it has not been serviced in a long time, it may just need a cleaning. Generally, poor transfer can cause you to get light image. Depending on how this model transfers the image to the paper you can try cleaning the transfer corona or roller. Take a look at the transfer assembly to make sure it is not loose or hanging away from the drum near the back. Light image can also be from the developer unit. It can be a broken developer unit, a clog in the unit or just need to have fresh developer installed in the unit. Good Luck!

Check if same defect is present on IBT then on drum.
Clean charge corotron, ROS window or even inside ROS.

Is the machine level?; dv may have traveled to front of machine.

Have you been printing heavy coverage? If so then it is starved of toner. The easiest way to resolve this if you are not an engineer is to photocopy around 50 copies of a bland sheet of paper in full colour mode and it should resolve itself.
