    Xerox 7655 Registration Problem

    I was asked to look at a Xerox 7655 for a slow touch screen. It is for nonprofit that my wife volunteers with. Well to make it short, I fixed the touchscreen. I am not a Xerox tech, never serviced one before(I use to be a Canon tech for many years). So they primarily print in bw with occasional color. I noticed that there logo, the colors were missed aligned slightly. The magenta was off by .25mm or so. I found the service manual for the machine, and I ran the ADJ 9.8 Registration Control Setup cycle. Now the color registration is worse, ever color is off. So after searching online, I stopped the machine, and took the attached pictures, I am missing yellow chevrons on the front of the belt. I see the yellow developer plastic strip is messed up on the front of the machine as well. I'm at a loss were to go from here, they can't afford to have the machine serviced, so I got to try to fix it, and get the parts needed for this.

      Thank you for your reply. Would there be anything else possibly wrong with the machine? Do the other chervons look ok?

        blind person can see it also

          if you can cut the seal and replace it with something similar it will fix the problem also

            Ok I will try that. Hopefully it fixes it. From the color chart I printed, the yellow and cyan seem to be the problem.

              Thanks! I cut out the bad spot on the developer, put some doubled layered scotch tape there for now. About an inch of the laser window was covered in yellow toner, which was right above the spot on the developer. Kinda surprised it would be damaged as there is only 28k color on the machine. Ran the registration config and they are back in business. It looks like a pretty easy machine to work one. Simple paper paths compared to some of the Canon's I have worked on.

              Has anyone ever cloned the hdd's as a backup copy, as I don't have access to the Xerox software.

                canons are absolute JUNK
                and so is every other brand
                best case they last 6 months only if they are new that is
                you can clone the hard drive but it can only be use on that copier and non else
