Hello, my friend .I have a few workcentre 5687 machine .when the power on frequency information, finisher is not detected. I tried several sets of the some problem .I use the office finisher in the end will be suitable for you.Can teach me ,thank you very much.

Isn't there a plastic piece that attaches to the side of the machine that lets the machine know there is a finisher installed?
I know that's the case for some machines, just not sure about this one.

That plastic piece is a docking sensor actuator. With that missing you would get a message saying that the finish was not properly docked. For you to get a message saying that the finisher was not detected you either have a bad electrical connection between the finisher and the copier there is some sort of software mismatch. First, make sure that the new finisher has power. Check the supply voltage going to the finisher. Make sure your cable from the LVPS of the copier is making good connection to the finisher too. If that all checks out, try doing an AltBoot with the new finisher installed to make sure the software levels match up.

I already try another workcentre 5687 machine but some problem . I sure finisher have power.what to do AITboot with the new finisher.can teach me.

Is your 5687 a single board controller (Tag 40) or a multiboard controller (non tag 40). (If you don't know what that means, does the network cable plug into the copier up high in the back or is there an additional box attached to the lower rear of your copier where the network cable plugs into?)

A Tag 40 machine is much easier to AltBoot. You can do it with a thumb drive.

Non Tag 40 machines require a PWS (special xerox laptop) with specific AltBoot program and video monitor cable to view the progress in addition to the actual firmware files.

Depending on what you need, some software is available at xerox.com.

Have you taken the rear cover off the finisher 2 screws and checked if the finisher board has any sign off life? Changed the finisher psu on these before now for some fault.

Use a screwdriver to check the docking switch. Make sure it works or it's in the correct position before moving on.

Finisher to workcentre 5687 No,but i put finisher installed in workcentre 5675 thereis no problem.good. can use. In the end is not the office finisher not suitable to workcentre 5687.Workcentre 5687 machine in the end what should finisher it. Can teach me. thank you.

Check software version on WC5675 machine and compare with WC5687 software version

I already checking ,workcentre5687 machine version not the same workcentre 5675 machine. How toupdate firmware because the first time i do,so do not know what to do. Can teach me.thank you.
